How we vet inspectors
Every inspector listed on buildinginspectors.au is verified before their listing goes live.
Verification checklist
- Credentials check: In Queensland, we verify the inspector's QBCC licence. In other states, we check qualifications, experience, and professional affiliations
- Insurance confirmation: All inspectors must hold current professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- Independence: We exclude inspectors who pay agent referral fees or are affiliated with real estate agencies
- Sample report review: Pro and Featured listings include a sample report we review for AS 4349.1 compliance and clarity
Ongoing monitoring
Queensland licences are re-checked every 6 months. Insurance and credentials for all inspectors are reverified annually. If an inspector's licence lapses, is suspended, or their insurance expires, their listing is removed immediately.
